NVC baseball not able to hang on to three-run lead in loss to Solano
April 06, 2026Napa Valley College was not able to hang on to a three-run lead and lost to host Solano Community College on Tuesday, 7-4, in a Bay Valley Conference baseball game in Fairfield. Napa Valley was leading, 4-1, in the fifth inning in Game 1 of a Bay Valley Conference series. Solano came from behind, scoring five runs in the sixth inning and one run in the seventh inning. It was the second straight loss for the Storm (9-19 overall, 5-5 Bay Valley). The Storm dropped to 2-15 in away games. -
Smith’s big day powers Napa Valley College baseball to 9-6 win over Laney College
March 27, 2026By MARTY JAMES martyjames.sports@gmail.com Wyatt Smith had a big day with the bat, with a double, triple and home run, and Napa Valley College’s offense was in high gear, exploding for 15 hits, as the Storm beat host Laney College-Oakland, 9-6, in a Bay Valley Conference baseball game on Thursday, March 26. It was the second game of a three-game series. The Storm (9-17 overall, 5-3 Bay Valley Conference) snapped a two-game losing streak. Ian Ross and Ryan Oliveri combined to limit Laney to six hits. -
Home run by Velasquez, 14-hit attack not enough as NVC baseball falls to Laney
March 26, 2026By MARTY JAMES martyjames.sports@gmail.com Nico Velasquez homered and the host Napa Valley College baseball team had 14 hits, but the Storm lost the opening game of a Bay Valley Conference series on Tuesday, March 24, falling to Laney College-Oakland, 10-9. Velasquez was one of five players to have two-hit games for Napa Valley (8-17 overall, 4-3 Bay Valley Conference). It was the second straight loss for the Storm. The game was tied, 9-9, going into the ninth inning. -
Winning streak comes to an end with NVC baseball losing to Mendocino

It was the third and final game of a three-game series. Napa Valley (8-16 overall, 4-2 Bay Valley Conference) was charged with six errors and its pitching allowed 18 earned runs while walking 13 batters. -
NVC baseball picks up first road win of 2026 season

It was the second straight win for the Storm (7-15 overall, 3-1 Bay Valley Conference). It was also the Storm’s first road win of the 2026 season. -
Three-hit game for Gray, home run for Baird in NVC baseball team’s loss
March 16, 2026By MARTY JAMES martyjames.sports@gmail.com Myles Gray had a three-hit game and Zack Baird hit a home run, but the Napa Valley College baseball team lost to host Yuba College, 22-7, on Thursday, March 12 in Marysville. Gray was 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored. Baird was 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Ryan Rice had a two-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a double. It was the second game of a three-game Bay Valley Conference series. -
Baird delivers for NVC baseball – dramatic walk-off, three-run home run in ninth inning
March 16, 2026By MARTY JAMES martyjames.sports@gmail.com Zack Baird wasn’t sure if he was ever going to play baseball again after graduating from Casa Grande High School-Petaluma in 2023. He stepped away from the game and spent a year as an engineering intern at Keysight Technologies, Inc., in Santa Rosa. “I took a year off from baseball,” he said. Realizing just how much he missed the game, Baird enrolled at Santa Rosa Junior College and joined the Bear Cubs baseball program. “I just missed the game, and I wanted to play again,” he said. -
Napa Valley College baseball searching for first road win of season

It was the ninth straight loss for Napa Valley (3-13 overall). The Storm is still searching for its first road win of the season, as they are 0-11 in away games. Napa Valley scored nine runs in the top of the ninth inning.
